⇒ What is a Beni Ouarain Rug?

Our Beni Ouarain rugs are handmade with love from fine natural wool by local artisans in Morocco.

This one-of-a-kind handmade Moroccan woolen Rug took its name from the Beni Ourain region where it was first made. This region has its own rug-weaving technique which consists of separating the wool weft with knots tied around the warp which is a white thin cotton string. This technique of hand-knotted pile gives the Beni Ourain rug its shaggy texture and soft touch.

Beni Ourain rugs are usually marked with Symmetrical diamonds or with simple Berber patterns scattered throughout.

• Handwoven using traditional looms by a Moroccan cooperative of women,
• Ecological product: Made of 100% pure sheep wool and Cotton warp,
• We preserve our rugs from clothes Moth, and clean them before shipping,
• Dimensions: 308 cm x 203 cm without the fringes,
• Care: We recommend dry cleaning, and sweep in the direction of the knots.
• Recommendation: We recommend using a rubber mat under the rug to prevent it from slipping.
