Every region in the Moroccan Atlas mountains has its secrets in weaving pillows, rugs, blankets, and even clothes. These secrets are not shared with other regions to conserve the attribution of this art-making to their region. Amazigh women also embed in their work specific signs or letters from their language that have meaning and relate to a story. It is also worth noting that in the early ages, artisanal yarn weaving was an art exclusively mastered only by women. However, nowadays some men from Berber villages in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco are also experts in this field.
